Monkey Island Park is located on Nanwan Peninsula, Lingshui County, Hainan Province. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, it is the only island-type natural reserve for macaques in China and the world. Now more than a thousand macaques live here, so people call it ‘Monkey Island’. Since the scenic area is on the peninsula, if you want to enter Monkey Island, you can choose to take the sightseeing cableway to directly reach the scenic area, or choose to take a boat to reach the pier on the peninsula, and then take the sightseeing bus of the scenic area to Monkey Island Park.
Entering the gate, the first thing you will see is the Monkey Island Sculpture Square. You will see a monkey sitting and thinking with a human skull in Darwin’s ‘On the Origin of Species’. This sculpture is a replica of the gift sculpture that the famous American red capitalist Dr. Hammer gave to the former Soviet leader Lenin. After viewing the sculpture, come to the Huaguoshan Macaque Tourist Area. See the welcoming honor guard of cute macaques holding high the flag under the leadership of the monkey captain. You can also see the water park of macaques – ‘Bathing Holy Pool’. The monkeys in the swimming pool dive, swim, or perform high-altitude diving. In the macaque acrobatics performance area, you can see macaques full of ‘human nature’. Under the leadership of the trainer, they perform various difficult acrobatics. Continuing forward, there is a macaque kingdom detention center, which is used to ‘detain’ those macaques who have robbed or injured people. According to the regulations, they will be detained here for a certain period of time. In the macaque performing arts field, you can watch a classic sitcom. The opening hours are from 08:00 to 17:20 all year round.Preferential policies: Children: Free for those under 1.2 meters (excluding 1.2 meters); Half price for those 1.2 meters (including) to 1.4 meters (excluding).
