The Jiusan Monument is located within the People’s Park in Yuzhong District, Chongqing, approximately 40 meters away from the former site of the Chongqing Youth Building where the Jiusan Society’s founding congress was held. The main monument is a rectangular structure measuring 9.3 feet in length and 5.4 feet in height, composed of 9 stones arranged in three horizontal and three vertical rows, symbolizing both the ‘Jiusan Society’ and the ‘May Fourth Spirit’. The monument is made of red granite; the front face bears the inscription of the Jiusan Society Chairman, ‘Monument to the Founding Site of Jiusan Society’, the back is engraved with the ‘Jiusan Society Founding Declaration’, and the left side is carved with the image of the original Chongqing Youth Building, the site of the Jiusan Society’s founding congress. The entire monument is designed with a solemn and dignified appearance. It is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.
