Mulan Bay, resembling a triangle, is located at the northern end of Wenchang City in Puqian Town. It is composed of Mulan Head, Mulan Bay, and a vast area of 30 square kilometers, connected to Qi Xing Ridge, and is 49 kilometers away from Haikou City by sea and 90 kilometers by land. The bay features deep waters and calm waves, with a rocky seabed suitable for docking large vessels weighing up to ten thousand tons. It is 3 nautical miles away from the international shipping route and could be developed into a deep-water port when conditions are ripe.

The Mulan Bay area is open and gentle, maintaining a good ecological environment. The natural scenery is picturesque, with green lawns resembling a natural golf course. Three kilometers away from Mulan Bay is Mulan Head, which is made up of seven independent crescent-shaped beaches, grotesque rock areas, and an approximately 6 square kilometer sharp triangular landmass. In the southern part of Mulan Bay, there is a lighthouse with an elevation of 97.2 meters, which can be considered the first in Asia. The lighthouse has a construction height of 74.2 meters and is visible to ships within a range of 24 nautical miles along the coast.

On the west side of the ridge, there is a vast stone beach with silver-white sand dotted with strangely shaped boulders, smooth and round, displaying a thousand different forms. From a high vantage point, the waves crashing against the shore are magnificent and spectacular. On the east side of the ridge, there is a continuous stretch of beach with loose white sand and clear seawater, making it a natural seaside bathing spot. The bay is open all year round, 24 hours a day, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening conditions.
