The Mysterious Fruit Orchard is located in Nansha District of Panyu, Guangzhou, and is abundant with a large number of Mysterious Fruits. The name may sound unfamiliar to many, but it actually originates from West Africa in the 1960s and is now cultivated in various regions of China, including Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, and Hainan. Belonging to the Sapotaceae family of evergreen shrubs, the Mysterious Fruit earns its name due to the presence of miraculin in its flesh, a type of glycoprotein. When consumed, it has the unique ability to make sour foods taste sweet for up to half an hour afterwards, which is quite intriguing.
The Wanqingsha Mysterious Fruit Orchard began small-scale cultivation in July 2007 and, through continuous efforts over three years, has developed into a sizable professional orchard today, attracting numerous visitors and buyers from the Pearl River Delta. It is one of the early orchards in Guangzhou to cultivate Mysterious Fruit. Currently, it has established the ‘Mysterious Fruit Enthusiast Club’, ‘Mysterious Fruit Exhibition Hall’, ‘Mysterious Fruit Friendship Pavilion’, as well as exquisite packaging, providing a local orchard that offers a unique, interesting, healthy, and leisurely experience for a broad consumer base.Must Read
