NAKED FLOWERS: A Sensory Journey of Light and Flowers Exhibition in Hong Kong is a creation by the renowned Japanese light and shadow creative company, NAKED, INC. This year, it makes its debut in Hong Kong at ‘1881’, offering an immersive journey through the five senses with flowers as the theme.
Spanning over 4,000 square feet, the exhibition is divided into eight major areas, providing an unimaginable shock to the senses including sight, sound, touch, smell, and even taste. The team aims to lead visitors into a dreamlike realm of flowers and skillfully construct a colorful floral world with a distinct NAKED style. They guide everyone into a magical realm of flowers that transcends reality and offers an unforgettable sensory experience.
The eight major exhibition areas include:
1. Flower’s Book NAKED BIG BOOK: A giant book filled with mysterious experimental notes that lead the audience into the realm of flowers with every turn of the page, exploring and experiencing the secrets hidden within flowers.
2. Big Flower Garden: Stand in front of giant flowers and enjoy the gentle fragrance that accompanies the fluttering petals, leading us deeper into the mysterious garden.
3. Wild Flower Garden: Like a spring flower field, it is filled with rich fragrance, and the silhouettes of butterfly wings dance like fairies, bringing more colorful blossoms.
4. Mosaic Flower Garden: As you pass by the wall, grand flowers bloom on the entire wall like your own shadow. Look forward to seeing what kind of flowers will bloom.Microscopy of Flowers: Unveiling the Hidden World

Flower Path: A Journey Through Petals and Seeds
Imagine a tunnel formed by various petals and seeds, resembling a flower storm. Walk through this tunnel composed of vivid petals and seeds dancing in the wind, and journey together towards the cherry blossom garden.
OUSAI GARDEN: A Dreamlike Cherry Blossom Experience
Bright petals float and dance, surrounded by a dreamlike cherry blossom. Here, you can taste specially made drinks, immerse yourself in the sea of flowers, and embark on a ‘flower viewing adventure’.
Dandelion A World Full of Peace: Global Art and Connection
‘Dandelion’ is an art piece that connects the world. By blowing on the dandelion, the floating dandelion fluff will flutter around the world through the network, blooming near the ‘Dandelion’ set up in various places. The dandelion fluff carries the wishes of ‘May peace descend upon the world’ and ‘May the world become more beautiful’, blooming globally.
NAKED CAFÉ BAR: A Refreshing Stop
After enjoying the exhibition, visitors can take a break at the café bar located within the venue. The café bar offers a variety of floral teas from 10 am to 6 pm and switches to cocktails after 6 pm. The café bar continues the essence of NAKED FLOWERS, where images bloom into corresponding flowers when beverages are placed on the projection area of the bar.

Some of their notable works include ‘TOKYO HIKARI VISION’, a 3D light sculpture projection at Tokyo Station; ‘NAKED FLOWERS’, an art exhibition held at the World Cultural Heritage site Nijo Castle in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and other locations; ‘NAKED SAMURAI’, an AR guide; ‘HUMANOID DJ’, a music experience powered by artificial intelligence (AI); ‘TREE by NAKED yoyogi park’, an experiential restaurant that marries food culture with art; and experiential arts such as ‘NAKED flower squat’ and ‘NAKED lantern’.
Ryotaro Muramatsu, the founder and artistic director of NAKED, INC., also serves as a visiting lecturer at Osaka University of Arts and the brand director of Achi Village. Since establishing the creative company in 1997, Muramatsu has overseen projects across various fields such as films, space exhibitions, local revitalization, and traditional Japanese art. His directed films have garnered 48 nominations and awards at international film festivals.In 2018, he embarked on a journey as a solo artist, creating works and showcasing them in art exhibitions both in Japan and internationally. By 2020, he had launched the interactive online art project ‘DANDELION PROJECT’, which aims to connect the world through prayers for peace and has a commitment to establishing works globally.
