Nan’ao Island is located in the waters at the border of Guangdong and Fujian provinces, and it is a county of islands. The island primarily features attractions such as Jin Yin Island, Qing Ao Bay, Huanghua Mountain National Forest Park, Nan’ao Commandery Mansion, Song Well, and Die Shi Rock. The natural scenery of Nan’ao Island is innately harmonious. Due to limited development, the environment is well-preserved, with many mountains, stones, plants, and trees retaining their original appearance.

The beach scenery is also very beautiful, making it a niche spot for taking photos. Additionally, there are historical relics on the island that can be visited during leisure time. In Huanghua Mountain National Forest Park, there is a high mountain from which one can enjoy an endless view of the ocean. At the foot of the mountain, there are several stone turtles with distinctive features. Nan’ao Commandery Mansion and Song Well are both historical relics.

The former was built in the early Ming Dynasty and was reconstructed into a commandery mansion in 1983, which is worth visiting for those interested in history. The latter, as the name implies, is a well dug in the Song Dynasty with a long history. There is also Die Shi Rock, a peculiar stone shaped like two huge stones towering over each other, which is quite characteristic. Regarding transportation, Nan’ao Island is not large, and it is possible to reach various attractions by cycling, renting a car, or driving on the island.

There is also an island tour bus line available. In terms of accommodation and catering, Nan’ao Island’s accommodations are mainly concentrated in the Xiawei Bay and Qing Ao Bay areas. Overall, the environment is average. Xiawei Bay is located in the southeast of the island, close to the passenger station and Song Well. It is mainly homestays, which are good for those who want to eat seafood. Qing Ao Bay is located on the southwest side of Nan’ao Island, near the Changshantou dock.

If you arrive by ferry, you will be near Qing Ao Bay. It is better to stay here if you want to enjoy the sea view, and you can also see the beautiful island sunset in the evening. Most of the restaurants on the island are seafood stalls, with a very rich and fresh seafood selection that is worth tasting. Opening hours: Open all year round, 24 hours. Concessions: Children under 3 years old are free of charge; children aged 3 to 12 are half price.

Additional note: Nan’ao Island is free to enter all year round, and the above concessions only apply to paid attractions within the island, such as Jin Yin Island.
