Nanfeng Temple, named after the abrupt southern peak at the ‘mountain gate’, is an ancient temple in Taishun. A poem by Qing Dynasty scholar Dong Zhengyang from Taishun describes it as: ‘An ancient temple hidden in the mountain’s belly, with a peak right at the door.’ It is one of the oldest temples in Taishun, with a history dating back to the Western Jin Dynasty (265-317), over 1700 years ago.
