Nanhai Museum is located at the east side of the south entrance of Xique Mountain in Xique Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. It is backed by Xique Mountain to the north and faces Xique Dream Factory and Guoyi Film and Television City to the west. As a multifunctional comprehensive museum integrating collection, protection, research, display, and academic exchange, it is also an important venue for showcasing the historical culture of Nanhai District, Xique Mountain culture, and Guangfu culture.
The museum’s main building consists of three floors, with seven permanent exhibition halls, namely ‘Nanhai Memory’, ‘Nanhai Heroes’, ‘Collection of Calligraphy and Painting’, ‘Guangfu Customs’ temporary exhibition hall, and ‘Shijin Yi Collection Exhibition’. The total exhibition area is approximately 3500 square meters. The collection primarily includes unearthed cultural relics from Nanhai, Guangdong Province, such as Han Dynasty pottery, Tang and Song Dynasty porcelain, stone tools from Xique Mountain sites, and works by artists and calligraphers from Nanhai throughout the ages, with a particular emphasis on stone tools from Xique Mountain sites, Kang Youwei’s calligraphy, and autograph manuscripts.
