Nanhu Island is located in the southeastern part of the Summer Palace’s Kunming Lake in Beijing, to the east of the West Causeway of Kunming Lake and south of Longevity Hill, covering an area of over one hectare. The entire island is circular in shape, featuring structures such as the Dragon King Temple, Jianyuan Hall, Danhui Pavilion, Yuebo Tower, and Yunxiang Pavilion, all of which were rebuilt after being destroyed.

Surrounded by water on all sides, the island’s perimeter is constructed with large stones and protected by blue-white stone railings, offering a broad view and an unobstructed panorama of the surrounding scenery, making it an excellent spot for sightseeing in Kunming Lake. Ferries are also available to connect the island with the northeast and northwest corners of the lake shore. For specific opening times, please consult the scenic area.
