The Nankunshan Forest Secret Realm Scenic Area is located next to the main peak of Tian Tang Ding in the Nankunshan Provincial Nature Reserve, with an altitude of over 600 meters. The main peak, Tian Tang, stands at 1228 meters above sea level. Known as the ‘Forest Town’ on the Tropic of Cancer, Nankunshan is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, often referred to as the ‘Oasis on the Tropic of Cancer’, ‘Summer Resort in the South’, and the ‘Back Garden of the Pearl River Delta’. The forest coverage rate of Nanxing Mountain reaches 96.93%. The air is rich in negative ions, with an average concentration of 5000 per cubic centimeter, peaking at 136,000 per cubic centimeter, making it a natural oxygen bar.
The highlights of the first phase of the Forest Secret Realm Scenic Area include: 1. The One Leaf Peach Garden Scenic Area features European and American-style villa buildings, with exotic flowers and rare plants that are countless, including the long-stemmed magnolia, known as the ‘Panda of the Plant Kingdom’. Every step reveals a new scene, and every snapshot is a masterpiece. 2. The Dragonfly Pavilion showcases dragonflies, important ornamental insects, with 183 species discovered in Nankunshan to date.
Visitors can see various species of dragonflies flying or resting on treetops throughout the park. This is an opportunity for children to personally meet these sprites of nature and experience an innovative outdoor classroom. 3. The Forest Secret Realm Sightseeing Train travels through the provincial forest reserve, with lush trees on both sides and steep mountains interspersed, allowing visitors to feel the embrace of the primeval forest.
