Nanling Tower is located behind the Nansha Tianhou Palace, built in memory of the maritime goddess Lin Mo. The tower stands at 45 meters tall and consists of 8 floors. Unlike other towers which have an odd number of floors, Nanling Tower has an even number due to a folk legend that assigns odd numbers to male deities and even numbers to female deities. As a result, within the Tianhou Palace, all steps, ridge tiles, and couplet characters (either the upper or lower part) are in even numbers. The tower is open all year round from 08:30 to 17:00, with the actual operating status subject to the day’s opening conditions.
