Nanshan Cultural Tourism Area, a renowned religious and longevity culture scenic spot in our country, offers visitors the opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of mountains and seas, visit numerous Buddhist sacred sites, and witness the world-famous ‘Nanshan Sea Guanyin’. This area provides a spiritual cleansing from Buddhist culture and the joy of returning to the essence of nature.

The Nanshan Cultural Tourism Area is a treasure trove of Buddhist sculpture art and majestic architecture. The 108-meter-tall Nanshan Sea Guanyin is both solemn and spectacular, while the Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall and Nanshan Temple house meticulously carved Buddhist statues. Praying for blessings and seeking peace, the ancient Chinese saying “Blessings as vast as the East Sea, and life as long as the Southern Mountain” encapsulates the long-standing connection between Nanshan and the culture of longevity and blessings, making it an excellent place for Buddhist prayers.

Recommended route for a visit includes: The Non-Dual Gate, Nanshan Temple, Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall, and finally, the Nanshan Sea Guanyin. The Non-Dual Gate serves as the main entrance of the scenic area, symbolizing the great wisdom of Buddhism and marking the beginning of the Buddhist pilgrimage. A few hundred meters away, visitors can board the scenic area’s shuttle bus to continue their journey. Both Nanshan Temple and Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall are popular attractions, and the Nanshan Sea Guanyin is an absolute must-see.

Nanshan Sea Guanyin stands tall at 108 meters on the South China Sea, serving as a landmark of the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Area and a pilgrimage site for many Buddhist believers. The Guanyin statue is majestic, featuring three integrated statues holding beads, a casket, and a lotus, symbolizing compassion, wisdom, and peace. Visitors can view the statue from afar and up close, or even take an elevator or walk up to the lotus base to touch the Buddha’s feet and pray sincerely.

Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of the Guanyin group statues. Enshrining the thirty-three transformation bodies of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, the hall features various shapes and a resplendent golden appearance, making it very worth seeing. Here, visitors can also copy scriptures for free, experiencing the purification of Buddhist culture.
