Nanshan Library, invested and constructed by the Nanshan District Government of Shenzhen, is one of the iconic cultural buildings in the Nanshan District. Located in the central area of Nanshan District, the library covers an area of 13,700 square meters with a building area of 16,400 square meters, designed to hold a collection of 600,000 volumes and over 900 reading seats. It was founded in 1994 and officially opened to the public on March 28, 1997. By the end of 2005, the library had accumulated nearly 460,000 volumes, including more than 40,000 electronic books with over 110,000 copies.
Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-21:00, closed all day on Mondays; on New Year’s Eve, it is open from 09:00-15:00. The adult reading room is closed on Mondays and open from 09:00-21:00 from Tuesday to Sunday;法定节假日: 另行通知. The children’s reading room (0-6 years old) and the juvenile reading room (6-12 years old) are closed on Mondays, open from 15:30-21:00 from Tuesday to Friday, and from 09:00-21:00 on weekends and holidays, with specific notices for statutory holidays. The study room (next to the newspaper reading area on the 1st floor) is open every day of the year from 09:00-21:00, with special notices for exceptional circumstances.Nanshan Library
