Nantai Wofu Mountain, also known as the Natural Buddha Mountain, is located in the northeast of Shi Zheng Town, Pingyuan County, with an elevation of 840 meters. It is recognized as the world’s largest natural Buddha statue. The Buddha statue spans a length of 5200 meters, crossing two provinces, with the body in Guangdong and the feet extending into Jiangxi, making it the largest natural Buddha statue discovered to date. When viewed from east to west, it resembles a Buddha contemplating the sky and laughing heartily; from the south, it appears like a mighty lion in a crouching position, exuding immense power and majesty.
Nantai Wofu Mountain is one of the top eight scenic spots in Eastern Guangdong. The area includes nine temples: Wu Xian Hall, Lu Di Temple, Bai Yun Temple, Qing Shan Temple, Jin Su Temple, Le Hu Temple, Long Quan Temple, Sheng Jiao Rock, and Lion Rock. It is an excellent destination for tourists to hike, explore, sketch, photograph, engage in eco-tourism, and relax.
