Nanwenquan Park is located in the Nanwenquan scenic area in the southern suburbs of Chongqing City. It was built in 1927. The park is divided into four major scenic areas: Daquan Scenic Area, Huayuan Scenic Area, Xiannü Cave Scenic Area, and Zhushi Garden Scenic Area. Nanwenquan Park is one of the new ‘Twelve Scenes of Bayu’. It has mountains, waters, springs, forests, caves, and waterfalls. The unique hot springs and the meandering Huaxi River form a beautiful natural landscape. Nanwenquan Park is at the intersection of the Baxian Mountains and the Tushan Mountains. The mountains meander and the peaks are lush. The beautiful scenery composed of mountains, waters, forests, waterfalls, caves, springs, and famous historical sites and legends makes Nanquan extremely attractive. Nanquan is one of the tourist scenic areas in Chongqing City and is famous for its hot springs. Discovered in the Ming Dynasty and built in the Qing Dynasty, its water quality can be compared with Huaqing Pool in Lintong. It has twelve scenic spots: Wentong in Nantang, Huxiao Xuánliú (Tiger Roaring and Hanging Stream), Gongqiao Fànyuè (Boating Under the Arch Bridge in the Moonlight), Wuhú Zhànyǔ (Five Lakes Occupying Rain), Yànyù Guīzhōu (Returning Boat at Yanyu), Qiàobì Fēiquán (Flying Spring on the Cliff), Sānxiá Bēnléi (Thundering in the Three Gorges), Xiannü Yōuyán (Secluded Rock of Fairy), Shuǐhuá in Xiaotang (Slippery Water in Small Pond), Jianwen Relics, Shidòng Tànqí (Exploring the Strange in Stone Cave), and Fishing by Huaxi River.It was titled in person by Lin Sen, the leader of the National Government.
