Nan Yaojie Town is located in the southeast of Youyang County, bordering with Yanhe County, Songtao County, Yinjiang County in Guizhou Province, and Xiushan County in Chongqing City. It is characterized by its verdant mountains, tranquility, and seclusion. This area is historically significant as the base of the Third Army of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army in the Sichuan-Guizhou-Hunan-Hubei revolutionary region. It has witnessed the fervor of the Chinese revolution, the footprints of the Red Army’s life and combat, and the blood of martyrs, making it a land steeped in revolutionary history.

Within Nan Yaojie, dozens of well-preserved Red Army battle sites and martyrs’ graves can still be found, including the meeting site of the Second and Sixth Army Corps, the August 1st Military-Civilian Meeting Site, and the former site of the Red Army Political Department at Dadachang Ancestral Hall.
