The Miyun Station of National Astronomical Observatories is located on the north bank of Miyun Reservoir in Miyun County, Beijing. It was completed and approved in 1966 and is one of the main observation bases for early radio astronomy in China. The heavyweight equipment in the station is the Miyun 50-meter antenna. It is currently a relatively large antenna system newly built in China to complete the lunar exploration engineering tasks and radio astronomy observations.

The antenna is 56 meters high and consists of three parts: structure, feed source, and servo control. Outside the courtyard, observation equipment such as the meter-wave synthesis aperture array and the 50-meter radio telescope model can also be seen. Today, the Miyun Station is almost no longer engaged in astronomical observation activities but is mainly used for receiving data from Chang’e satellites.

Open all day throughout the year.
