Neilingding Island, part of the Futian Nature Reserve established in October 1984, spans an area of approximately 921.64 hectares and consists of two areas: Neilingding Island and Futian Mangroves. The Futian Mangroves is a smaller forest and wildlife type nature reserve. Located southwest of Shenzhen City, Neilingding Island is about 9 kilometers northeast of Shekou, covering an area of 4.84 square kilometers. The island is named after its solitary position in the sea, originally called Lingding Mountain, and later renamed to distinguish it from Wailingding Island. The Neilingding Island reserve is situated on the east side of the Lingdingyang within the Pearl River estuary, covering an area of about 554 hectares, with Jianfeng Mountain reaching an elevation of 340.9 meters. The island boasts lush green peaks, verdant layers of vegetation, and clear waters that flow year-round. It is home to a diverse range of plant species, with 619 vascular plants, including the white cinnamon and wild lychee, which are key national protected plants. The wildlife resources are also abundant, with the primary protected species being the macaque, a national second-level protected mammal, numbering over 900 individuals. Other main protected animals include the otter, pangolin, black-eared kite, python, and tiger-striped frog. The opening hours and business status are subject to the daily opening conditions.
