Former Site of Uchiyama Bookstore

The Uchiyama Bookstore was founded in 1917 by Japanese expatriate Uchiyama Kanzō. In 1929, it was relocated to its current former site at No. 2050, North Sichuan Road. The Uchiyama Bookstore is well-known among Chinese people because of its indissoluble bond with Lu Xun. After Lu Xun moved to Dalu New Village in Hongkou District, Shanghai, he often came here to buy books and became good friends with Uchiyama Kanzō. At present, the first floor of the former site is the business department of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. The second floor is the exhibition room of Uchiyama Bookstore. Visitors can enter for free with their ID cards. Opening hours: Open from 10:00 to 21:00 all year round.
