The New Henghe Bridge is located within the Liulang Wenyin Park, originally constructed in 1881, situated at the northern end of Canghe in Xiacheng District. It is a single-arch stone bridge with an approximate length of 16.4 meters and a width of about 4.31 meters. The arch is constructed using the longitudinally connected segmented masonry method.
On the stone tablet above the eastern arch, the words ‘New Henghe Bridge’ are inscribed in seal script, while on the western arch, it is inscribed with ‘Constructed in the winter of the fifth year of the Guangxu era, respectfully erected in the autumn of the sixth year.’ The bridge railings are made of Yanzhou bluestone, with the middle platform railing being wider and thicker, chiseled into a bench-style railing for pedestrians to rest. The ends of the railings are engraved with patterns composed of pine, plum, magpie, and auspicious beasts forming the character ‘return.’ The bridge is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.New Henghe Bridge
