The Ngong Ping Tree Walk is approximately 5.7 kilometers long, and it takes about 4 hours to travel from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping, including rest periods. Originally, this was a rugged mountain path connecting Tung Chung and Ngong Ping, but it now serves as an emergency, escape, and maintenance route for the Ngong Ping 360 cable car, hence it is also known as the Ngong Ping 360 Rescue Path. During the construction of the Ngong Ping cable car, some sections were paved with wooden boards to preserve the local natural environment, which is why it is called the Ngong Ping Tree Walk. The opening hours are subject to the actual operating status on the day.
