Yinzhou is the birthplace of the Ningbo business community and also the homeland of ‘Red Gang Clothing’. The Ningbo Clothing Museum is located in Wandi Village, Xiaying Street, Yinzhou Central District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It is a large-scale clothing museum with the theme of protecting and displaying the provincial intangible cultural heritage list of Red Gang tailoring skills, and it is also the first professional clothing museum in China. The museum is a ‘human-shaped’ building with a large sloped roof and a combination of two slopes. The museum mainly focuses on exhibiting over two thousand pieces of Chinese clothing and historical treasures, restoring historically significant scenes, and interweaving the origins of Ningbo clothing, the birth process of another school of Red Gang tailoring, and the historical contribution to the formation and development of modern Chinese clothing. Visitors can gain a deep understanding of the development of Ningbo and Chinese clothing culture here. The museum is open all year round from 09:00 to 16:00, and from 08:30 to 16:30 (last entry at 16:15), closed on Mondays.
