Ningbo Show: Gateway to the World is a large-scale maritime-themed travel performance show. With a distinct regional civilization as its foundation, it poetically portrays the cultural symbols and local features of Ningbo. Elements such as the Hemudu Civilization, the Maritime Silk Road, and the Red Bridal Chamber, are either grand or charming, making it a play that allows locals to reminisce about their hometown and for visitors to explore the cultural charm of Ningbo. The show employs dance, acrobatics, high-diving, and other special effects, incorporating advanced stage technology and equipment, to create a creative film and television live performance model in a vast water stage. The entire performance is divided into nine chapters: Boat Ballad, Farewell, Departure, Secret Realm, Pirates, Silk Road, Storm, Dream Marriage, and Sea Shout.
The 10,000 square meter high-tech theater features a 3,000 cubic meter constant temperature water stage, an amphibious stage, custom-developed G20 stage machinery team, and panoramic multi-channel surround sound effects, immersing the audience in a voyage aboard a ship, providing an immersive audio-visual experience. Ningbo Show: Gateway to the World carries on Ningbo’s historical context of ‘Books from Ancient to Modern, Ports Connecting the World,’ and tells the legend of Ningbo’s sea-faring people with a contemporary touch.
