The ‘Peacock’ is a classic stage image created by the renowned dance artist Yang Liping. Her series of works, represented by ‘The Spirit of the Peacock’, have reached a level where the audience believes ‘she is the peacock, and the peacock is her’.
In the pursuit of art, Yang Liping is insatiable. Even after embodying the ‘form’ and ‘spirit’ of the peacock, she is still not content. She wishes to tell a richer and more profound story about the ‘peacock’. Thus, in 2012, the dance drama ‘Peacock’ was born, which received widespread acclaim and attracted numerous viewers upon its release.
In a decade, the 2022 edition of the dance drama ‘Peacock’ was re-launched with a completely new stage format. After meticulous refinements and improvements, the 2022 national tour, which included 50 performances in 12 cities, was sold out in every venue, creating a ‘peacock trend’ nationwide.
From 2023 to 2024, the ‘peacock’ will spread its wings again, visiting over 40 cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai, to offer more than 200 performances, providing audiences with a visual and spiritual feast that should not be missed! The performance is open from November 15th to 17th, lasting 120 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.
