Ninghai Huangtan Guangfu Temple is located in the west of Ninghai County in eastern Zhejiang. It is in Mukengzheng Village, Huangtan Town, about four kilometers from the county seat. Surrounded by high mountains on all sides, with countless trees reaching into the sky on the mountains, the scenery is beautiful.
This temple was built in the Song Dynasty and has a history of more than seven hundred years. Guangfu Temple was once glorious, with numerous halls. Later, after the daughter of Yang Taishou, a native of Yangjia Village in Huangtan Town (Sister Yang) became a nun here and took charge of this temple, it was renamed Guangfu Nunnery. After Sister Yang took charge of this temple, incense was flourishing and the moral atmosphere was upright. There were as many as five hundred resident monks.
It is said that at that time, Yang Zhenlong, a native of Yangjia Village, rose up against the Yuan Dynasty in the 26th year of the Yuan Dynasty. After being defeated, he once hid here.
Nowadays, Guangfu Temple has become magnificent after reconstruction. There is a Guanyin Hall and a Dabei Tower in the temple, with a construction area of more than 1,300 square meters.
