The North Bund Art Museum is located on the 3rd floor of the Raffles City in Hongkou North Bund, and is a 3D+ real scene immersive art museum themed around the Old Summer Palace. Covering an area of nearly 4100 square meters, the museum is deeply rooted in traditional Chinese culture. The inaugural exhibition, ‘Dreaming Back to the Old Summer Palace’, features furniture from the Old Summer Palace that has returned from overseas, official kiln porcelain, and other treasures from the imperial court. Through nine themed exhibition halls, the museum breaks away from the conventional museum narrative, utilizing new media technology, physical scenery creation, and interactive projection to offer visitors a refreshing experience.
The exhibition is designed from the perspectives of humanities, art, and technology to provide diverse interactive experiences. Visitors can appreciate nearly a hundred exquisite ancient treasures while learning about the history and culture of the Qing Dynasty, experiencing the profoundness and immortal charm of Chinese civilization, and getting up close with traditional Chinese art and culture, thereby establishing a true sense of national confidence.
The museum is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00-18:00; closed all day on Mondays; and open on Labor Day from 11:00-18:00. Preferential policy for children: free admission for children under 3 years old (not including 3 years old).
