Descending from Zhangren Peak on the summit of Mount Tai along the slope and passing the Hou Shiwu cableway station, at the mountain col, there is the North Tianmen stone archway, which was re-erected in 1984. The original archway plaque was called ‘Yuanwu’, that is, Xuanwu, the god of the north. It was abolished in the Qing Dynasty. To the north of the archway is Moyun Ridge, with red cliffs soaring in the air. On the east side, there is the Eight Immortals Cave, which is as precarious as a falcon’s perch. It is said that Lu Dongbin once studied Taoist arts and refined elixirs here.
