The Oriental Art Center is located at the eastern end of Century Avenue in Pudong, adjacent to Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and Century Park. From a distance, it looks like several closely adjacent glass giant bowls. When viewed from above, it is like five blooming petals. It is recommended that the audience dress neatly when attending the performance. In case you miss the admission time, you can first watch the performance inside the hall through the instant LCD screen at the entrance of the performance hall. At the main entrance, there is a storage service available. There are also restaurants and cafes that offer light meals and Western pastries. This is the masterpiece of the famous French architect Paul Andreu. The exterior of the building uses metal laminated glass curtain walls. The five hemispheres here are: the main hall entrance, the Oriental Performance Hall, the Oriental Concert Hall, the Oriental Opera Hall, and the exhibition hall. The Oriental Performance Hall has 333 seats. The stepped auditorium has the style of an ancient Roman theater, allowing performers and the audience to be closer. The 1953 seats in the Oriental Concert Hall are distributed around the stage. Here is also China’s large pipe organ. The Oriental Opera Hall is based on a large area of red. It has 1020 seats and has a variety of stage equipment that can be lifted, rotated, and moved to meet the needs of various performances. In addition, there are dressing rooms and rehearsal halls, as well as an exhibition hall where art exhibitions can be held.
