Paitang Town is one of the few areas in Guangdong Province where the original natural landscape is well preserved. It is connected with the Nankunshan Nature Reserve. The town has beautiful scenery, with clear waters and lush mountains. It is rich in tourism resources. There is the Baishuixian Waterfall, a high mountain waterfall with a large drop (428.5 meters). There are nine peaks with an altitude of over 1,000 meters, which are peculiar and precipitous. Among them, Niugu Zhang is the peak of Zengcheng with an altitude of 1088 meters. The scenic spots such as Qixiandun and Dafengmen, the southern sky ponds, are charming. There are also many mountain streams and waterfalls. There are many natural landscapes and scenic spots are concentrated. Cultural resources include the former residence of Shi Dakai, a general of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, the Xiong’s Ancestral Hall in Latianpu, the old waterwheel in Chedong, the old street of Paitang, and the ancient bell of Ming Wanli in Lingshan. There are also Gaotan Hot Spring and Baishuizhai Scenic Area. Open all year round and all day.
