The Panwang Ancient Temple is located in Woshui Township, 27 kilometers southwest of Liannan County. Here is regarded as the ancestral stockade by the Yao people. Along the highway from Liannan County to Woshui, the trees are lush, the mountains are stacked layer by layer, the rivers have cascading drops, and the terraced fields on high mountains are stacked layer upon layer. The scenery is very charming. The Panwang Ancient Temple is at the confluence of Huangjiachong and Liulianshui. It was built more than 1300 years ago. What we see now is rebuilt several years ago. The temple is surrounded by high mountains on all sides. On the mountains are rows of Yao stockades (also known as ‘Yao Pai’) stacked up along the slopes and surrounding the Panwang Temple. The Yao people often come to the Panwang Ancient Temple to worship their ancestors. Every three to five years, a large-scale ‘Shuage Hall’ activity will be organized to worship the gods. In front of the Panwang Ancient Temple, there is an acacia tree with a hundred years of age. It has luxuriant branches and leaves and is always covered with acacia beans. The Yao people regard the red beans on this tree as sacred objects and pick them up and put them in front of the shrines at home for worship to ward off evil and seek peace. The specific business hours are subject to the opening situation on the day.
