Idyllic Paradise is a legendary ancient village, surrounded by mountains on all sides, with a landscape that is distinct from the outside world. It boasts vast peach blossom forests, herds of cattle and sheep, and the sounds of shepherds singing, resembling a celestial realm. More peculiarly, the villagers have, for generations, traversed a 400-meter-long cave filled with numerous underground natural sculptures and Buddhist grottoes, relying on torches to communicate with the outside world for thousands of years, with no other passages available.
The village still preserves ancient languages, cultural practices, and customs, bearing historical marks. Here, one can truly experience the wonders of the ‘Idyllic Paradise’ as described by Tao Yuanming.Idyllic Paradise mainly consists of two parts: ‘Peach Blossom Cave Heaven’ and ‘Idyllic Paradise Longevity Village’. ‘Peach Blossom Cave Heaven’ is located about 1 kilometer east of Qiaotou Town, Huaiji County, Zhaoqing, with a length of 350 meters, a width of 50 meters, and a height ranging from 4 to 20 meters. Inside the cave, it is so dark that one cannot see their own hand, with a stream running through the belly of the cave. Exiting the eastern cave mouth, one is suddenly enlightened to see a well-organized transportation network and hear the sounds of chickens and dogs.
