Pat Sing Leng Country Park, nestled within Tai Po District, is a delightful natural scenic spot renowned for its beautiful landscapes, lush greenery, and dense forests. Located in the northeastern part of Hong Kong’s New Territories, it is adjacent to the nearby Sam Mun Tsai Country Park. Pat Sing Leng is home to the mythical Pat Sing Leng Ridge, the picturesque Heung Sze Wun Reservoir area, and the Pat Sing Leng Nature Education Trail.

Spanning across Pat Sing Leng Country Park are the ninth and tenth sections of the Wilson Trail, offering expansive countryside views and, on clear days, glimpses of Shenzhen, China. Descending from the Fairy Peak leads to the end of the Wilson Trail. Hikers who venture into Pat Sing Leng can enjoy the seclusion from urban hustle and bustle. The park comprises eight ridges stretching from east to west over five kilometers, with an average height of 600 meters and the highest point at Wong Ling, reaching 639 meters.

The northern slopes of Pat Sing Leng gently descend towards Sha Tau Kok Sea, while the southern side features steep cliffs that connect to Sha Lo Tung along the surrounding scree slopes. Climbing from Tai Mei Tuk to the summit, the mountain trail is steep and winding. At the ridge, the path undulates with cliffs to the south and undulating mountains to the north. As one moves forward, the ‘Eight Immortals’ ridges appear one by one, each summit requiring considerable effort to reach.

Each ridge of Pat Sing Leng offers a great vantage point to view both urban Hong Kong and the countryside, with Wong Ling being no exception. This weathered ridge, with sand and gravel strewn about, overlooks natural beauty and the distant urban landscape of the New Territories. South of Wong Ling lies Sha Lo Tung, a tranquil valley with many abandoned rice fields and villages. North of Wong Ling, behind the ridges, is Shenzhen City in Guangdong Province.

Visitors to Pat Sing Leng typically take breaks at Wong Ling and other peaks. Sitting atop the high ridges, one can appreciate the rare contrast between urban and rural landscapes. The park is open all year round, with full-day access, subject to daily operational status.
