The Taohuayu Scenic Area is located on the east coast of Taohua Island. It is a block on the island with beautiful natural ecological environment. Here, there are strange rock walls standing upright and lifelike. From the top of the mountain, you can view the sea view from afar and watch the sunrise in the morning. The main scenic spots include: Taohuazhai, Donghai Shenzhu, Tanshifeng Peak, Shen Diao Stone, Sea Turtle Patrolling the Shore, and Bashful Avalokitesvara.
Taohuazhai: Located in the center of the Taohuayu Scenic Area, covering an area of about 2 square kilometers. Here, there are shady green trees, clear brooks and curved bridges, and a quiet environment. It is an excellent place for leisure and rest. The apricot-yellow flag, red lanterns, and heroic tunes make you seem to be in the world of martial arts culture. The Pharmacist’s Hermitage, Jing Ge’s Residence, and Rong’er Tea House allow you to appreciate the true meaning of ‘love’, ‘fate’, and ‘righteousness’ in Jin Yong’s novels.
Tanshifeng Peak: Shaped like a thumb popping out from the palm, like a treasured sword inserted upside down by the sea. It is located in a place of ‘magical axe’. The solitary peak stands tall, as if cut by a knife and ax. There are sheer cliffs and a cool breeze. From the inscriptions in front of Tanshifeng Peak, you can see that more than 600 years ago, when Wu Lai, a literary figure of the Yuan Dynasty, came here, he highly praised the beautiful scenery of the strange peaks and rocks around Tanshifeng Peak. Tanshifeng Peak is also the place where Huang Yaoshi in Jin Yong’s famous work ‘Shooting Heroes Trilogy’ cultivated his unique skills.
