Pei Xian Palace, located in Gulou District of Fuzhou City, was constructed during the Zhi Ping years of the Song Dynasty. Pei, a revered figure, is said to be from Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, with the surname Zhou and the given name Jianjie. He served as a guest official in the Fujian Provincial Government Office and was known for his benevolence towards the people. In his political career, he widely promoted moral principles and encouraged people to do good. Consequently, many followed his path in learning Taoism. Subsequent generations built a temple to honor him and enshrined his statue.
