Langrun Garden is located within Peking University. In the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, it was the bestowed garden of Prince Qing Yongshen and was named ‘Chunhe Garden’. During the Xianfeng period, it was bestowed to Prince Gong Yixin and renamed ‘Langrun Garden’. Today, Langrun Garden is basically intact and has taken on a new look after restoration. It is the location of the China Center for Economic Research of Peking University.

In front of Zhifu Pavilion in the garden, there is a stele of ‘Records of the Restoration of Langrun Garden’ jointly written by Mr. Hou Renzhi and Professor Zhang Xin of the Archeology Department. The main buildings of Langrun Garden are divided into three parts: east, middle and west. There were originally more than 150 large and small houses and dozens of verandas, pavilions and other buildings.

During the Xianfeng period, it was expanded again and became a very luxurious mansion. Today, most of these houses are still preserved. Walking among them, one can still feel the glory of the prince’s mansion back then.

Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year.
