Penglai Immortal Cave, also known as the Arhat Cave and formerly known as Shenjia Cave, is a large-scale karst cave with multi-levels, multi-stages, and various accumulation forms. It spans over 3000 meters in length and covers an area of more than 20,000 square meters, featuring an interlaced structure divided into four levels: the Heavenly Cave, the Middle Cave, the Earth Cave, and the underground river. The cave is uniquely shaped, winding, and grand, with beautiful scenes scattered throughout. It contains more than 10 scenic spots such as the Welcome Hall, Sea Exploration Gallery, East Sea Dragon Palace, Transparent Palace, Immortal Palace, Jade Palace, Milky Way Gallery, Jade Pool, South Sea, Tide Sound Hall, and Farewell Hall, each offering splendid sights.
The Earth Cave is filled with variously shaped large stones and a continuous underground river, with a giant stalactite over 9 meters high called ‘Landing Golden Bell’ that is magnificent and spectacular; the Middle Cave is covered with exquisite groups of stalactites, resembling both objects and people, lifelike and vivid; the Heavenly Cave is grand and splendid, winding and deep, with peculiar landscapes. There are several inscriptions on the cave walls dating back to the Ming Dynasty.

The cave’s interior is uniquely landscaped, and the exterior boasts clear waters and lush mountains, with the interior and exterior scenery blending harmoniously, truly enchanting to visitors. The main characteristics of Penglai Immortal Cave tourist area are its majestic and grand presence, beautiful and captivating scenery, and complex structure with rugged cave passages. The pure white ‘Gossamer Curtain’, the golden and transparent ‘Heavenly Threads’, the large-scale three-dimensional ‘Landscape Mural’, and the exquisite and majestic ‘Thousand Buddha Mountain’, known as the Four Wonders of Penglai, are considered the best among the Shitai Karst Caves and are referred to as a natural geological museum.

The entire cave is open from 03/08 to 10/31 from 07:30 to 17:00 and from 11/01 to 03/07 from 08:00 to 17:00. Preferential policies include: Children: Minors aged between 6 (excluding) and 18 (excluding), and children with heights between 1.2 meters (including) and 1.4 meters (excluding) enjoy half-price tickets; children aged 6 (including) or below, or with heights below 1.2 meters (excluding) enter for free.


Elderly: Elderly aged between 60 (including) and 65 (excluding) enjoy half-price tickets with relevant documents; elderly aged 65 (including) and above enter for free with ID or senior citizen cards. Students: University undergraduate and below enjoy half-price tickets with student IDs. Disabled: Disabled individuals with disability certificates enter for free. Active-duty military personnel: Active-duty military personnel with soldier or officer IDs enter for free.


Labor models: Labor models at the provincial level or above (including provincial level) with labor model certificates enter for free. Travel agency managers: Travel agency managers with national or provincial tourism bureau qualification certificates enter for free. Tour guides: Tour guides with a national tour guide certificate and a Chizhou City guide certificate enter for free. Journalists: Journalists with valid press credentials enter for free.


Association members: Members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, National Writers Association, Artists Association, Musicians Association, Photographers Association, and Calligraphers Association with membership cards enter for free. Firefighters: Firefighters with valid credentials enter for free. Disabled military personnel: Disabled military personnel with relevant valid credentials enter for free.
