Pingtan Island, also known as Haitan Island, is located in Pingtan County, Fuzhou City. It is the fifth largest island in China. The island is often filled with mist coming from the east, thus having the alternative name “Donglan”.
The coast of the whole island is winding, with a shoreline over 400 kilometers long, boasting high-quality beaches.

There are many places of historical interest and scenic beauty on the island, such as Sanshijiao Lake, Shipaiyang Reef, Fairy Well, Yipianwa, and Keqiutou Ruins. There are also leisure places like Longfengtou Resort and Tannanwan Seaside Bathing Beach. It is a famous coastal tourism and vacation destination.

In the north, east, and south of Pingtan Island, there are three major coastal beaches: Changjiang’ao Beach, Haitanwan Beach, and Tannanwan Beach. The sand is fine and white, the sea water is clear and blue. They are connected to each other. Behind them is a lush shelter forest belt, and there are islands and reefs in the sea. The scenery is extremely pleasant.
