Within the Pofeng Ridge Red Leaf Scenic Area, amidst the lush greenery, are the villas of the powerful eunuch Li Lianying from the feudal dynasty and warlord Cao Kun. At the foot of the mountain lies Huangshan Dian Village, a model of civilization in the capital, with its rustic and elegant farmhouses resembling an idyllic retreat. Climbing up the winding stone path to the Qiufeng Pavilion, one can gaze upon the misty Pofeng Ridge, draped in a colorful array, dazzling and dreamlike, as if in a fairyland. Looking down at the mountain paths, they meander through secluded beauty, with few people and stunning views, offering a delightful experience. The area’s paths for ascending and descending the mountain are well-constructed, with a total length of approximately 6200 meters, making it very convenient for walking. Along the trails, considerate seating and small tables are placed for visitors to rest. If late autumn at Fragrant Hills is described as ‘thousands of mountains in red, with forests fully dyed,’ then Pofeng Ridge is ‘red leaves amidst green, with colorful ribbons dancing in the sky.’ The interplay of red, yellow, green, and pink with the blue sky and white clouds creates a visual feast, as if colorful ribbons are dancing in the air, forming a flowing sea of color. The entire area is open year-round: Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00; Saturday and Sunday from 07:30 to 17:30.
