Potted Plant Beach is the first beach – flow landscape upon entering Jiuzhaigou. Continuing forward after passing Heyezhai, you will come to a travertine beach – flow area. The shallow beach is covered with weeds, as well as arbor and shrub plants such as poplars, rhododendrons, pines, cypresses, and willows. From afar, it looks like a colorful and gigantic potted plant, thus getting the name “Potted Plant Beach”.
Potted Plant Beach is a travertine shallow beach. There are various plants growing on the milky – white travertine deposits. Due to natural mutations, the plants have developed roots that can directly absorb nutrients from the water.

The river water at Potted Plant Beach is clear, and the surrounding trees have intertwined roots. Each tree presents a unique scene, just like a potted plant.

Must – see tips: In the past, tourists could step onto the beach and wade in the water. Since 1992, to protect the natural environment of the scenic spot, the Jiuzhaigou Administration has prohibited tourists from stepping onto the beach and wading in the water.
