The Prime Minister’s Ancestral Temple is also built in memory of Zhuge Liang. It is about 100 meters away from Dagong Hall and covers an area of 1,400 square meters. Facing west from the east, the layout is in the shape of a rectangle. There are 52 rooms, consisting of an entrance hall, a central courtyard, corridors, bell and drum towers, and a memorial hall. It is simple and magnificent with extraordinary momentum. The ancestral temple is richly decorated with carved beams and painted pillars. Components such as doors, windows, and railings are all exquisitely carved and extremely beautiful. The central courtyard is the highlight of the ancestral temple. In the middle, there are four large pillars that require several people to encircle. They are made of four kinds of high-quality woods: pine, cypress, paulownia, and Chinese toon. It implies that pine and cypress are always in spring, praying for the prosperity of the family for generations. There are seven rooms on each side of the corridor on both sides of the central courtyard, where outstanding descendants of Zhuge Liang are portrayed to inspire the descendants of Zhuge Liang to work hard and achieve great things. Ascending the steps from the corridor, there are bell and drum towers on both sides. Behind the ancestral temple is the memorial hall. In the middle, there is a statue of Zhuge Liang more than 2 meters high. On both sides are statues of Zhuge Zhan, Zhuge Shang, Guan Xing, and Zhang Bao. The charm is vivid and seems to be about to come out. In addition to the above two halls, there are many ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties preserved in Zhuge Town. They are lined up in rows and scattered in an orderly manner, as if they were bright pearls scattered in every corner of the town. Such an ancient residential community with unique layout, large scale, early age, large quantity, diverse types, exquisite architecture, and good preservation is rare not only in the south of the Yangtze River but also in China. It has extremely high historical and scientific research value.
