Princess Hejing’s Mansion was the residence of Princess Hejing, the daughter of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. Princess Hejing was born in 1731. She was the third daughter of Emperor Qianlong. As the first two daughters all died young, Emperor Qianlong regarded her as the apple of his eye. The princess’s title was a relatively high level among princesses in the Qing Dynasty – ‘Gulun’, on the same level as princes.

Therefore, the princess mansion we see is also a large mansion of the same specification as a prince’s mansion. In historical records, Princess Hejing was elegant, erudite, intelligent by nature, and magnanimous. At the age of 16, she married the prince of Horqin Department in Mongolia. The great-grandmother of this Mongolian prince was the famous Empress Xiaozhuang in the Qing Dynasty. The prince was also a young hero of his generation and later made great contributions in the war to pacify Junggar.

After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, this place was purchased by warlord Zhang Zongchang as his residence. Zhang Zongchang was a famous ruffian warlord known as the ‘commander who knows nothing’. He didn’t know how many soldiers he had under his command. He didn’t know how much money he had. He didn’t know how many concubines he had. In 1932, Zhang Zongchang was assassinated in Jinan. Many concubines and descendants fought over the inheritance and the large mansion changed hands.

Nowadays, the front yard of Princess Hejing’s Mansion is an office area for companies, and the back yard is a hotel. There is someone on guard at the entrance. Ordinary tourists cannot enter, but they can still view the building from the outside and feel the magnificence and luxury of the former princess mansion.

The opening hours are all year round and open all day. Only external viewing is allowed. The exterior is open all day. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
