The Pudong Library boasts an ‘elegant’ and ‘grand’ environment with ‘comprehensive’ facilities and an ‘abundant’ collection of books. The first and second floors are dedicated to ‘public services and academic exchanges’; the third and fourth floors are primarily for general document lending, often ‘packed with people’, with the majority being students who ‘arrive early to secure seats’ to do homework or write papers.
The fifth and sixth floors house the ‘special reading department’, ‘audio-visual reading department’, and ‘digital reading department’, which are ‘serene and pleasant’ with a ‘good atmosphere’. The library is open year-round from 13:00 to 20:00 on Mondays and from 09:00 to 20:00 from Tuesdays to Sundays. The consultation desk, general document lending, newspaper and periodical reading, and过期 newspapers reading are available from 13:00 to 20:00 on Mondays and from 09:00 to 20:00 from Tuesdays to Sundays. The services for the visually impaired, registration office, children and youth reading center, special document reading, smart learning space, and digital reading space are open from 13:00 to 17:00 on Mondays and from 09:00 to 17:00 from Tuesdays to Sundays.
