Pudu Zhen Palace is located on Chating Road in the urban area. It was built in 1898, the 24th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. The main building is composed of Zhongtian Hall (demolished in 1987 due to the expansion of Chating Road), Jinmu Hall, and Dimu Hall. It is a three-entry temple complex that enshrines divine Buddha statues and is an ancient temple integrating Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. The existing two halls have roughly the same structure: there are side rooms on both sides of the main hall; inside the hall, there are the central room and the secondary rooms on both sides; on the roof ridge, there are glazed two dragons playing with a pearl; on the main ridge inside the hall, there are flower and bird carvings; on the front wall of the corridor roof, there are murals. Qing Liang Hongxu’s ‘Beihai Miscellany’ praises it as: ‘The temple appearance is splendid and is the crown of all temples in Beihai.’ Opening hours: Open from 9:00 to 18:00 all year round.
