Qiandao Lake Lucky Island, the first island one encounters upon entering Qiandao Lake, holds a special place among the lake’s 1078 islands. It is the closest to the Xin’anjiang Hydropower Station, earning it the nickname ‘The First Island of the Lake Gate’. This island, originally named ‘Fengping’, is now more commonly referred to as ‘Lucky Island’ due to its prime position as the ‘First of the Thousand Islands’. Visitors to this island often feel a sense of ‘Supremacy among a Thousand Islands’, thanks to its favorable natural conditions.
The Lucky Island Scenic Area is a collection of several attractions that include Lucky Square, Lucky Pavilion, Peacock Garden, Forest Hunting Ground, Yaotai, Water Amusement Park, Fu Lu Shou Xi Cai Lucky Path, Wu Fu Garden, and Auspicious Birthday Trace. Lucky Square, built by the lake, features a set of simple and natural rock sculptures that have become the symbol of Lucky Island. A large peculiar stone inscribed with the three red characters ‘Lucky Island’ stands out in this square.
Lucky Spring is a clear and sweet mountain spring that flows slowly from the dragon’s mouth of the Lucky Wall, a feature affectionately known as ‘Dragon’s Saliva’. Lucky Pavilion is home to the statues of Guanyin, Samantabhadra, and Manjushri, the three Bodhisattvas in Buddhism, along with the Earth Store Bodhisattva of Da Ci Yan.
Yaotai, the highest point of the Lucky Island Scenic Area, stands at an elevation of 165.5 meters with a vertical distance of 60 meters from the lake, offering visitors a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape.Surrounded by the lake on three sides, it offers a fresh and elegant environment. Standing here, overlooking the green waters of a thousand islands, one can forget all worries and purify the body and mind. Additionally, the Peacock Garden, Ostrich Garden, and Snake Garden on the island are full of wild interest, as if entering a fascinating animal world, arousing a deeper love for nature.
Opening hours are from 08:00 to 15:30 all year round.
