The Qiantang River Bridge was designed by the famous bridge expert Mao Yisheng. It is also the first railway and highway dual-purpose bridge independently designed and constructed in China. You can overlook the whole view of the bridge from the Liuhe Pagoda and then walk over to appreciate the heroic appearance of the bridge up close. Standing on the bridge and watching the surging Qiantang River water has a special flavor. There is also a touching story about the bridge itself. After the bridge was built, with the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, the bridge was blown up under the leadership of the designer Mao Yisheng. The bridge was not repaired until 1946 after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. And there has been no problem ever since. Nowadays, the statue of Mr. Mao Yisheng can still be seen at the bridgehead. Opening hours: open all day all year round.
