This is an ancient pool excavated in the Song Dynasty. Later, it was named ‘Jinjing Pool’. The pool gathers the water from the east and west mountain streams of Xuedou Temple. At that time, its area reached 7,800 square meters. A bridge and sluice gate were built on it to control the waterfall of Qianzhangyan. The current area of Jinjing Pool is about 200 square meters. It was rebuilt in 1986. Along the poolside, a 300-meter road was built.
At the upper end is Guanshan Bridge. On the bridge is Qingsuo Pavilion, making the landscape of Qianzhangyan well-arranged and even more charming. The Qianzhangyan waterfall has a drop of 186 meters and is famous for its majestic and spectacular scenery. Emperor Zhenzong of the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhao Heng, once named it ‘Dongzhe Waterfall’. Standing on Feixue Pavilion, you can see the waterfall cascading down from the cliff in front. Feixue Pavilion has been a wonderful place to view the Qianzhangyan waterfall since ancient times. Because the waterfall at Qianzhangyan is like flying snow, it was formerly called Feixue Waterfall. Therefore, this pavilion is named Feixue Pavilion. Open all year round and all day.Qianzhangyan
