Dangan Island Nature Reserve is one of the few comprehensive nature reserves in China that integrate forest, wildlife and wetland ecosystems. The main protection targets are mangrove wetlands, macaques, birds and the island ecological environment. It is an important base for studying wetland ecosystems, migratory birds, as well as the original habitats and development history of macaques.
