Nestled on a small hill next to Signal Hill Park stands the classic German castle-style Qingdao Christian Church. Its striking red roof, green steeple, and yellow exterior walls exude a unique beauty characteristic of religious architecture, attracting countless couples to capture their wedding photos here.
The church is not large, consisting of a bell tower and a sanctuary. Upon entering the sanctuary, one can see the entirety of the church at a glance. It lacks the opulence of a Catholic church, with a simpler interior arrangement. At the end of the church, there is a circular window, in front of which a large cross is simply displayed. Unlike other churches, the church’s organ is placed on the second floor at the entrance.
After visiting the sanctuary and climbing to the top of the bell tower, visitors can explore a mechanical device inside. From the top of the bell tower, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the sea. Today, the large bell in the bell tower still operates with precision, ringing every Sunday and striking the hour every half hour. The deep bell sound conveys solemnity and reverence, filled with a sense of religious sanctity.
