The museum of Qingdao Huanghai University is a comprehensive public welfare museum integrating historical relics, natural specimens and artworks. It is also a themed museum with inkstone culture as the theme and integrating various functions such as exhibition, publicity, research and exchange. The museum currently has more than 8,000 collections, including more than 3,000 cultural relics collections, covering more than ten categories such as study, Ming and Qing calligraphy and paintings, ancient books, ceramics, bronzes, Han portrait bricks, bamboo and wood ivory carvings. At present, themed exhibition halls such as the Chinese Ancient Inkstone Hall, Han Portrait Brick Exhibition Hall, Ancient Ceramic Culture Exhibition Hall, Strange Stone and Ornamental Stone Exhibition Hall, and Aviation Exhibition Hall have been opened. The museum is especially characterized by its collection of study inkstones. It is one of the few museums in China with inkstone culture as the theme. The ancient inkstone display shows many ancient inkstones of various shapes and stones from different historical periods, most of which are handed down cultural relics. These collections can fully show the general development of Chinese inkstone culture and constitute a vivid history of the development of ancient Chinese inkstones. It is also a relatively comprehensive display of Chinese inkstone culture.
