On April 25, 2024, the General Office of the People’s Government of Shandong Province issued a reply on holding the 2024 Qingdao International Beer Festival, agreeing to hold the 2024 Qingdao International Beer Festival in Qingdao from July 19 to August 11, 2024. As one of the well-known festival activities in China and one of the four famous beer festivals in the world, the Qingdao International Beer Festival was founded in 1991.
It is held from July to August every year and has now been held for 33 sessions. After 33 years of development, the beer festival has become an important tourism resource of Qingdao City and has played an important role in stimulating the tourism market, spreading urban culture, and promoting economic development. During the holding of the 33rd Qingdao International Beer Festival, in the Golden Beach Beer City of the West Coast New Area, with the theme of ‘openness’, a prominent-themed, wonderful, vibrant, safe and orderly international beer festival was successfully created. It received 6.17 million tourists from home and abroad, consumed about 2,700 tons of beer, invited more than 630 performers to perform more than 1,100 cultural activities, planned and organized 10 international, national and provincial fashion sports events with 1,650 sessions, and held various business exchange activities such as industry, talents, business environment, and rural revitalization, attracting extensive attention from domestic and foreign media. It showed the unique charm of Qingdao as a ‘vibrant ocean capital and a wonderful and pleasant city’, and demonstrated the open, inclusive and vibrant style of the new area of the West Coast. The ‘beer city’ city business card is even more beautiful.
